SYMPTOMS: There is a file named virusremoval.vbs in your pendrive.
PART 1: REMOVING THE VIRUS PERMANENTLY:
1. Check the last PC you inserted your pendrive into.
2. Find the file named virusremoval.vbs from the search or it will be most happily hiding at C:\Windows\System32\virusremoval.vbs. It is a Visual Basic Script file.
3. Hold Shift key down and delete the file. This will delete the file permanently.
4. But the problem is not solved because the next time you boot, you will get an error message ”Couldn’t load script file: virusremoval.vbs“
5. So obviously the program to load the virus resides in Startup list. So this is our next step.
PART 2:KILLING THE PROCESS THAT LOADS THE VIRUS:
1. Point to Start-Run and type msconfig. Hit Enter.
2. In the Startup Tab find the process named Windows Script Host (wscript.exe) and disable it by unchecking.
Thats it!…Try inserting a formatted pen drive and check again.
So now your PC is HAPPY again!
Make sure you take a system backup when you know that your PC is virus free.
And do comment if this post helped or dint help. Thumbs Up OR Thumbs Down!?
